Day 01 :
Nairobi – Nanyuki

Depart Nairobi in shared transport for the Mount Kenya area – arrive in Nanyuki late afternoon. Afternoon acclimatize and prepare for Mount Kenya Climb. Dinner and overnight at a campsite

Day 02 :
Nanyuki – Judmier Camp

– Distance 9 Km

– Walking hours 3-4 hours

– Meters above sea level 860m

After breakfast Proceed to Sirimon Gate, 1 hr, 2440m. From the gate follow the track as it winds uphill through the forest which becomes heathland after about 3 hrs. About 3½ hours from the gate the track veers right to Judmier Campsite, 3300m for dinner and overnight, L, D

Day 03 :
Judmier Camp – Shipton Camp.

– Distance 14 Km

– Walking hours 6-7 hours

– Meters above sea level 900m

After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction. After one hour from Old Moses Camp, the route crosses the Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley from where panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Campsite, 4200m, B, L, D

Day 04 :
Shiptons – Point Lenana – Old Moses Camp

– Distance 14 Km

– Walking hours 6 hours

– Meters above sea level 785m

Leave at 3 am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving at point Lenana at 6:30 am, taking about 3hrs. After sunrise, descend down to Shiptons 2hrs, for breakfast and further hrs down to Judmier Campsite, 3300 m, for dinner and overnight, B, L, D

Day 05 :
Old Moses – Nanyuki – Nairobi

Descend 2hr, to the park gate to get your transfer to Nanyuki town to connect shared transport back to Nairobi.
